WHO WE ARE
As long as I can remember I’ve loved being outdoors, from the South Downs of my youth to my current home on Dartmoor in the south-west. Since 1992 I have lived on Dartmoor and fallen in love with its unique blend of open wildness and history, ancient and modern. For the last 22 years I have been an active member of the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team.
In addition to close on 30 years experience, I hold the national Mountain Training Hill and Moorland Leaders certificate. The South West Mountain and Moorland walking and camping leaders certificate, a HSE appointed persons first aid certificate, and a Mountain Rescue England and Wales Casualty Care Certificate.
My childhood was spent in the Wilds of Connemara, Ireland. From a very young age I appreciated the Wildness. Immersing myself in the landscape, and really being present in the space. Exploring Dartmoor, when I moved here in 2012 seemed second nature. I was set a challenge of visiting every Tor,( All 394) and Stone Circle (14) on the moor in a year . Which I completed with 29 days to spare. I opened a slow food café in Somerset, which allowed my creative culinary skills to grow, using the very best produce from the local area. My creative side allowed me to weave a bit of magic into the dining experiences. Something we hope to bring to the wild dining experiences on the Moor.
